Restorative Dental Care
For A Healthy Smile
Restorative dental care covers treatments that restore the structure or function of your child’s teeth after damage occurs.
Dental Fillings
A dental filling is used to restore teeth that have been damaged due to cavities, or when teeth have been worn, cracked or broken. At Happy Teeth Pediatric Dentistry, we offer white composite (tooth coloured) fillings. Additionally, sealants can be applied to the surfaces of teeth to prevent cavities.
Teeth Extractions
A tooth extraction is sometimes needed when a tooth is damaged or infected. This may happen due to an accident, a sport injury or a large cavity. Removing a baby tooth is usually a simple process where we apply local anesthetic and gently loosen it.
Dental Crowns
A crown is sometimes needed when a tooth is severely damaged or decayed. We offer both stainless steel crowns and also zirconia crowns that are "tooth coloured". Stainless steel crowns are considered to be the "gold standard" in restoring baby teeth with large cavities.
Space Maintainers
A space maintainer (or spacer) is used to maintain space for the adult teeth to grow in. They also prevent other teeth from moving into the open space. Once your child’s adult tooth has erupted, the spacer is removed.
